About Gregg Motz

Dr. Motz is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic surgery. He offers general orthopedic services and specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of sports injuries. He also has an interest in the newest advances in orthobiologic therapy, which is a cutting-edge field that works to restore the structure and function of damaged tissue by using substances naturally found in the body.

Dr. Motz is among the first of the orthopedic surgeons in the middle Tennessee area to perform ConforMIS customized knee implant surgery for the treatment of early and moderate medial or lateral osteoarthritis. In the past he served as team physician for Hendersonville High School, Pope John Paul 2 High School, and Community Christian School. Currently, he maintains active affiliations with Hendersonville Medical Center and Indian Lake Surgery Center.

Dr. Motz completed his undergraduate studies at Miami of Ohio University in 1991. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1995, and completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at West Virginia University. He then completed a one-year specialty fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the Jennings Clinic in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2001.

Dr. Motz and his wife have two sons who are in college. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his wife, exercise/riding Peloton, golfing, scuba diving, and following college football, especially Columbia University football, where his son plays.
