About Jennifer M. O’Donnell, MD
Dr. Jennifer O’Donnell received her Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, where she majored in Physics modified with Biology and Italian Language & Literature. She earned her Medical Degree with Distinction in Research from Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. She completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), followed by a yearlong fellowship in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
During her time at UCSF, Dr. O’Donnell was a founding member of the Orthopaedic Wellness Committee and served on the Medical Education Committee. She is an active member of the North American Spine Society, where she serves on several committees, as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. O’Donnell has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals and contributed chapters to medical textbooks. Her work has been featured in prominent journals such as The Spine Journal and Global Spine Journal. She regularly presents her research at national meetings and has received multiple awards for her investigative studies, publications, and presentations. Most recently, her research on thoracolumbar spine trauma in pediatric patients was published in the June 2024 issue of JBJS Reviews.
She specializes in orthopaedic and spine surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques, cervical trauma, and the latest innovations in complex spine surgery.
