About William Melton
William N. Melton, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, and then earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Prisma Health in Columbia, SC at the University of South Carolina. He went on to finish a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Beth Israel Lahey in Burlington, MA. He also has received his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Melton is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Association, as well as a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Academically, Dr. Melton has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific research articles and textbook chapters, and has presented his research at national meetings. Dr. Melton specializes in both surgical and nonsurgical management of fractures, nerve and tendon injuries, arthritis, Dupuytren’s disease, and complex upper extremity trauma.
Dr. Melton is a Tennessee Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Certified Physician.
