About Christopher Jones
Dr. Jones is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who has advanced board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He treats athletes and disorders of the shoulder, knee, hip, and elbow using minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Dr. Jones brings unique expertise to Hughston Clinic in the treatment of multi-ligament knee injuries and hip preservation surgery. He joined Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics after serving as Team Physician and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
Dr. Jones has additional certification in cartilage restoration techniques and robotic knee and shoulder replacement.

Dr. Jones completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the esteemed American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, AL, under the direction of Drs. James Andrews, Jeffrey Dugas, Lyle Cain, and Benton Emblom. At ASMI, he received the 2015-2016 award for excellence in clinical research for the American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. In Birmingham, Dr. Jones assisted with the care of athletes from Troy University, the University of Alabama, Auburn University, World Wrestling Entertainment, and several professional teams from around the country.
Dr. Jones received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland, where he graduated with honors and several research awards. He continued his education at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he graduated with honors and as a member of the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Stony Brook Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY, where he was chief administrative resident from 2014 to 2015 and received awards for research excellence as a resident.
